RICHARD BERRY

President, Topa Properties VI

Richard Berry is President of all of Topa Equities VI's interests in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands. He shepherded each division through COVID-19 with a steady hand and led the group to a successful rebuild after the substantial damage caused by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in September, 2017.

Born and raised in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Richard graduated from St. Thomas Antilles High School. He then joined Ohio State University on an athletic tennis scholarship where he was a four-year letterman and earned an All-Big Ten Selection. After receiving his degree in 1987, Richard returned home and began his career with John E. Anderson-owned companies starting with Bellows International, Ltd. as a Sales Representative. Richard's role grew to Beer Manager, and shortly afterward he was promoted to General Manager of Bellows International's St. Croix operation. In 1995, he assumed the presidency of Bellows International, Ltd. and Caribbean Cellars (BVI) Ltd. While at the helm of these two successful beverage distribution companies, he spearheaded the creation of Leeward Islands Management Company and served as President. Two years later, he was also appointed President of West Indies Corporation, now known as West Indies Company.

Active in many community service organizations, Richard is currently on the Governor's Cruise Ship Task Force and is a past President of the St. Thomas-St. John Chamber of Commerce. As a former member of the Board of Trustees for Antilles School, he continues to be very active in promoting education initiatives in the territory. Richard is passionate about his family. He is married to his wonderful wife of 30 years, Lyn. Together they have a son, Ryan.
